A lot of SAT students in Pakistan ask me if they can make registration changes after registering for the College Board SAT in Pakistan. The answer is, it depends on what you want to get changed or updated. For example you can make changes to your personal information, such as your address without any additional fees. However there is a fee if you want to change the test center, test date, or the test type (SAT 1 or SAT subject test).

Changing your SAT Test Center, SAT Test Date, or SAT Test Type

If you want to change your SAT test date, SAT center and type in Pakistan then you must make the changes before the test date. You cannot make any changes on the test day.

Every registration ticket has a date listed; if you want to test on the same test day as you registered for initially then make the changes to your test center and type changes by the date mentioned on your admission ticket.

Note the following important conditions if you want to change the test center, date or type:

  • Make any changes before the date listed on your Admission Ticket, which is approximately 14 days prior to the test day.
  • You can either make the changes online through your student portal or by making a phone call to SAT Program Customer Service.
  • You will have to make an additional payment depending on the type of change.
  • Have your SAT registration number, date of test, and payment information when you make any changes by phone.
  • Print your new Admission Ticket since you may not be allowed to enter the test center if your information does not match the records.

Changing your SAT Registration Picture or Personal Data

In case you need to edit your personal data or picture such as your name, gender, D.O.B etc. after you have registered for the SAT in Pakistan then you must contact Customer Service. There are no additional fees associated with such changes.

Changes to SAT Subject Tests

This is the only thing that you can change on your test day. You can change your SAT Subject Tests without any additional charge. However if you add another subject test then you will have to pay the extra fee.

Absent on SAT Test Day

If for some reason you were unable to appear for the SAT exam on the test day and you want to test on a future test date then you can either use your online student account or contact collegeboard by phone to transfer to a new test date.

There is an additional fee associated with this change.

It is not compulsory to inform collegeboard in case you do not want to reschedule since all fees are nonrefundable. In this case no score reports will be sent to you.

Note: I would strongly advise students to give themselves atleast 2 months to fully prepare for the SAT in Pakistan before registering for the test. SAT is an expensive exam and you do not want to re-take the test because of lack of preparation.
